I know it's been a while since I've seen or talked to you.  I'm living
in the mountains of Colorado and life's been good the past few years.
I'm sorry to hear about Tom, but I know he's living it up in Heaven
just like he always did here.  I just want to remember what he did for
a few kids from Granbury during our high school years.  Making us a
part of his adventure called the Great Race was one experience I will
never forget.  I think I am realizing just how amazing this was as
time goes by.  Getting to go on two cross-country trips was the
experience of a lifetime for all of us.  Tom always seemed like the
life of the party and the Race every time we saw him.  I remember it
being the "Tom Show" every night in a new town before the cars
arrived.  He loved the excitement and he made everyone around him love
it too.  You couldn't not feel good around Tom.  It seemed like he
took advantage of everyday he had and lived life to the fullest.  By
starting a high school division of the Race, Tom wasn't just adding
more teams to the competition.  He was giving kids like us an

opportunity of a lifetime to experience the world.  He took us new
places and let us be a part of something valuable and good.  I did a
lot of growing up on those two trips and I'm thankful for that.  God
used Tom to touch a lot of people.  He certainly touched me.  I think
God would say to Tom, "Well done good and faithful servant."  I will
never forget my times in the Great Race, and I will never forget Tom
McRae.  Thanks for everything Tom, Sandi, and Sister.
